Our Story

Open Seas is 100% Australian owned. Established in 2024 by two families who have had over 40 years’ experience in the fishing industry of Australia.

The company consists of fishing vessels, trucks, a processing factory, and is both a wholesaler and exporter for speciality seafood products to restaurants, retailers and other food service in both Australia and overseas.

Operating from its modern and certified warehouse in Clontarf, Queensland it offers the highest quality seafood, specialising in a range of premium Australian seafood.

Sustainability

Open Seas prides itself on sustainably harvesting seafood and operating in a way to minimise any environmental impact. Since our inception in 2024 we have already made improvements to our operations and processes such as  a removal of single use plastics and investment into technology to reduce our emissions. We continue to look for ways to improve and work together closely with both government regulators of the fisheries we operate in and independent global bodies for sustainability certification such as the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). The health of our fisheries is of the utmost importance to us.
